Aaron: When the flavor dissipated, the palate was left with a lingering toasted oak. Before this surprise, there were slightly bitter cherries on the palate, swimming in a “jam-less” flavor – which was surprising given the location and vintage. Prior to experiencing these flavors, the drinker is blasted with a rich smell of plum and berries with just the right amount of oak. Why was this tasting backwards relative to normal? Because while my points usually come from the flavor, this bottle’s rating is due largely to the smell. Enjoy. 88 points
Teri: This is a very fruit forward zinfandel (a preference of mine) carrying flavors of cherry, raspberry, and blueberry. It contained a nice balance of slight jammy nodes and a hint of sweetness with a long smooth finish. 89 points
