Los Dos Grenache Syrah 2012

Los Dos Grenache Syrah 2012Purchased from World Market, $9.99

Aaron:  This was a great bottle.  The nose was fruity with strawberries and sweet cranberries and while the mouthfeel was light and not overpowering this is still a full bodied enjoyable wine.  There was a noticeable sweetness from honey which was very unique for a red while burnt oak in the background made me feel like I was standing in the center of a control-burn.  There were lots of berries and overall this was pleasant since it was not too overpowering but had enough pepper to “kick your butt” at the end.  91 points

Teri: Don’t let the nose fool you (almost none), there is an abundance of flavor in this wine. My taste buds were overwhelmed with bright red cherry on the first sip which then blends into earthy spice. The grenache keeps the wine with a nice medium body with fantastic smoothness but the syrah adds just enough kick. I don’t think I could drink too many glasses of this wine, but it would be quite enjoyable with casual foods and a group of friends. 88 points
