Casas de Herencia Blanco – White Blend 2014

Casas de Herencia White BlendAaron:  This gets a higher rating than my notes imply.  Olive branches and honeydew made for an exciting new smell, featuring lots of “green”.  The prominent flavors of stone and pear were intertwined with juniper, which was prominent but extremely difficult to pinpoint.  This wasn’t juicy but also wasn’t earthy, it was almost like rubber, making it uniquely interesting.  If you’re looking for something a little synthetic and herbal this is a great bottle for you.  90 points

Teri: This blend is a mix of 50% Macabeo, 30% Merseguera, and 20% Malvasia….all grapes which were new to me. Not knowing what to expect, I tasted this wine with an open mind. The light lemongrass nose was pleasant, and the lemongrass flavors were also prominent on the taste; along with another flavor I had a hard time placing…similar to cashews. There was a slight hint of butter and white peach on the wine, which also made way to a medium/long finish. Not too bad of a bottle and great for those who like to try new wines. 88 points
