Purchased from Kiona Tasting Room, about $15
Aaron: Readers will probably start to get tired of us complimenting Kiona bottles, but we like them. This one had a fruity nose with appropriate oak, followed by some leather and shoe polish. The taste was blunt and flat with a mellow cherry and grape flavor. There was no bite at all but subtle tannins to add body. This wasn’t super complex but was by no means “juice”, it was just easy to drink. It’s not what I would call a beginner wine, but it’s nice to take a step into something more complex than Menage a Trois. 90 points
Teri: Pleasent red fruit nose followed by the taste of black pepper, leather, blackberry, and oak. This wine is rich in flavor and complex. Delightful to drink with medium bodied and long tannins that linger in your mouth. I would pair this with Italian red sauces or creamy cheeses. 90 points
