Aaron: This is a solid brut.  Traditionally sharp and dry as you would expect, the nose is a non-factor.  I noticed pine on the flavor and not a lot of apple or pear like other sparkling wines.  89 points

Teri: Light nose, just a hint of lemon curd. Very crisp, dry and leaves you with a nice clean mouthfeel. Some grapefruit and lemon on the taste. Pleasent flavors and easy to drink. 89 points

Aaron: This isn’t anything to write home about on its own but great for mimosas.  The nose and flavor are both a little citrusy but not overwhelming.  Apple, pear, and lemongrass reeds were on most of the taste buds.  88 points

Teri: Light almond nose with crisp flavors of peach and almond. The flavor is long lasting and I enjoy the mouthfeel of the sparkling wine. Nothing too out of the ordinary but very enjoyable; a wonderful value. 89 points

Treveri Blanc de Noir

Aaron:  Red apple and palm trees cloud the nose and this is a little on the tart side but not bitter.  It’s more to say it’s not sweet.  I like that this is an easy-to-drink sparkling which can stand up to food and be enjoyed at any time.  89 points

Teri: Full disclaimer, I’m part of the “bubble club” for Treveri. Everything they make is high quality and a fantastic value (a few of their wines are even served at the White House). Their Blanc de Noir carries a nose of rose petals and raisins with flavors of orange peel, red apple, and floral undertones.  This bottle is excellent on a warm day or to break out for a celebration (even the small ones). Not too sweet and not too dry, the Goldilocks of Brut sparkling wines. 91 points

Aaron: Crisp apple and seawater nose.  Lots of fruity pears and red apple.  Not super harsh and doesn’t remind me of a traditional brut.  Pretty tasty and full.  90 points

Teri: Light smell with flavors of pear and peach on the wine. Balanced bubbled and flavor. I enjoy the crispness of the sparkling wine plus the beautiful flavor. This bottle is not only beautiful but also delicious. Great gift or bring to a festive party!  90 points

Cava Finca La Pintada Brut Rose NV

Cava Finca La PintadaSplash Wines, $19.95 (non-member price)

Aaron:  The nose on this brut was dark, organic cherries and the flavor was very very (VERY) dry.  Some mildly tart raspberries and root veggies combined with a hint of grapefruit and bing cherry.  89 points

Teri: This is a dry sparkling wine but still has notable flavors and a quality finish. After the cranberry-strawberry nose, I tasted flavors of dried strawberries then lingering raw Spanish peanut. This bottle is refreshing and good for many occasions but not my personal favorite. 87 points
