Aaron:  The bright, floral nose of this white featured lemongrass.  This led to a crisp flavor of noticeable citrus and yellow nectarines.  There was a hint of white tree bark and overall this was easy drinking and pretty good.  89 points

Teri: This white has almost no legs, which made me skeptical if it was going to have any body to it. The wine smells of peach and other stone fruits. The taste was diversely different from the nose; Flavors of lemon, green apple, pear and a hint of more citrus on the finish. Dry but still full of flavor. 90 points Crisp and refreshing.

Vivino Profile

Aaron: Trippy name which took me a while to pronounce – I consider this foreshadowing because the wine took a while to grow on me.  This had a nutty nose with white and yellow butter however the flavor was harsh and bitter a first.  After this initial taste a wave of salty ocean water and oysters crashed over grapefruit and ultimately left a creamier, cantaloupe linger.  89 points

Teri: With a light peachy nose and more ‘industrial flavors’ on the finish, I think this wine goes better with some food then something to enjoy on its own. Extremely fruit forward with flavors of stone fruit, dried apricot, and a hint of must at the end including some rubber and mineral tastes. I couldn’t tell if this was better or the same after it had a little time to aerate, but nothing special stood out to me with this bottle. 88 points

Ballentine Vineyards Chenin Blanc 2010

Received through Wine of the Month Club, Retail $15.99

Aaron:  I was surprised by how much I liked this wine.  Oak molded with melon on the nose to develop a bold smell.  Crisp and tangy, the lemon and tangerine flavors were very refreshing.  Overall, this wine was strong on the palate with smooth flavors.  93 points

Teri: This is a beautiful wine that is full and smooth but still light and crisp. Flavors of tangerine and melon open up further to granny smith apple. This light crisp and flavorful wine will pair well with creamy sauces or stand alone perfectly as a summer drinking wine. 91 points
