Dionysos Fileri Demi-Sec 2009

Total Wine & More, $9.99

Aaron:  I enjoyed the bright, crisp smell of citrus and apple and the smooth flavor of mild pear with some butter.  I also detected cream and sugar which were nice but this was a little light and dissipated too quickly; after a while the flavor became slightly bitter.  87 points

Teri: An easy to drink wine for non-wine drinkers. With its citrus semi-sweet smell of pear and green apple this white would also pair well with seafood, salads, or even a heavy meal. Incredibly smooth and full flavors of orange, pear, and butterscotch make it delicious from start to finish. 92 points

Elios Mediterranean Red Peloponnese 2009

Cost Plus World Market, $8.99

Aaron:  I was excited to try a Mediterranean wine and was happy with the solid, medium body.  The wine was easy to drink and featured strawberry on the nose with some oak.  Gentle earth tones overshadowed blackberry flavors making this pleasant but not necessarily a winner.  87 points

Teri: This Mediterranean red has a mild smell with flavors of blackberry and a hint of chocolate. I received a lot of chalkiness on the aftertaste, which was a bit unpleasant. The wine had good flavor but the tannins were a bit too harsh. 86 points
