Total Wine & More, $19.99

Aaron:  A wet oak nose reminded me of what old-world wines should smell like.  This was rounded out with a somewhat thin tar and blueberry.  The flavor was pretty dry with moderate tannins.  Tree bark and earthy notes dominated with a hint of strawberry encompassing the backdrop.  89 points

Teri: Oaky blueberries on the nose and an overall hearty wine but easy drinking. Medium and noticeable tannins with flavors of juniper berries, tannic raspberries, and white pepper. Hearty, flavorful and better with food. This bottle would stand up to heavy meals. 89 points

Rocambolesco Red Wine 2015

RocambolescoLot 18/The Tasting Room, $16/bottle

Aaron: The name is cool, the wine is ok.  Tar, oak, and raspberry made for a sweet but tart nose.  This was pretty tight and never really opened up to me, giving the sense of a tingly strawberry.  While easy drinking and fruity this was not very complex.  Nice for an intro wine but look for something else if you want to impress someone.  88 points

Teri: This bottle is nice to enjoy with cheeses and meaty dishes. It carries a medium body with a smooth finish. The flavors of red berry, leafy mulberry, cranberry and spice on the finish are enjoyable and pair well with food. 88 points

Leone Barbera D’ Asti 2014

Leone Barbera d' AstiLot 18/The Tasting Room, $15.99

Aaron: Sorry, all Teri on this one!

Teri: Because Aaron was a bit distracted when we opened this bottle, it looks like you are going to have to follow my opinion. I enjoyed the bright flavors of raspberry and strawberry with light oak on the finish. This wine has soft tannins (medium body) with high drinkability. 90 points for the flavors and its drinkability.

Nonna’s Secret Sauce Italian Red Wine 2015

PNona's Secret Sauce urchased from Lot18, 16.99/bottle

Aaron: Teri and I had noticeably different opinions on this one.  The olive branch and mahogany nose gave way to a juicy flavor with a hint of hickory smoke at the end.  Mild tannins gave it a good body full of sweet raspberry and porous rocks. 92 points

Teri: Nothing secret here, just a very mild easy drinking wine with a blend of flavors of fruit and oak/spice. Not complex at all and not my favorite. 85 points
