Lot 18/The Tasting Room, $16/bottle
Aaron: The name is cool, the wine is ok. Tar, oak, and raspberry made for a sweet but tart nose. This was pretty tight and never really opened up to me, giving the sense of a tingly strawberry. While easy drinking and fruity this was not very complex. Nice for an intro wine but look for something else if you want to impress someone. 88 points
Teri: This bottle is nice to enjoy with cheeses and meaty dishes. It carries a medium body with a smooth finish. The flavors of red berry, leafy mulberry, cranberry and spice on the finish are enjoyable and pair well with food. 88 points

Aaron: Sorry, all Teri on this one!
Teri: Because Aaron was a bit distracted when we opened this bottle, it looks like you are going to have to follow my opinion. I enjoyed the bright flavors of raspberry and strawberry with light oak on the finish. This wine has soft tannins (medium body) with high drinkability. 90 points for the flavors and its drinkability.

Aaron: Teri and I had noticeably different opinions on this one. The olive branch and mahogany nose gave way to a juicy flavor with a hint of hickory smoke at the end. Mild tannins gave it a good body full of sweet raspberry and porous rocks. 92 points
Teri: Nothing secret here, just a very mild easy drinking wine with a blend of flavors of fruit and oak/spice. Not complex at all and not my favorite. 85 points
Lot 18, $20
Aaron: Teri’s assessment that this is an “everyday” wine is pretty spot on. There was strawberry licorice and other hard candies on the nose with some medicinal herbs as well. The flavor was extremely fruity with some mild tannins. This wasn’t exceptional but was more than just juice. Not my favorite but easy to grab off the wine rack in a pinch. 89 points
Teri: This is a great everyday drinking read with a spicy nose but a fruity flavor. I tasted strawberry and cherry with subtle underlying hints of spice. Overall light but good body. 90 points
World Market, $6.99
Aaron: I take partial blame for the low rating on this wine; it should not have sat for as long as we let it. It smelled light and had a really fruity, yet watery taste. Not too complex to begin with, featuring only a subtle hint of oak. You could find something better, even for $8. 85 points
Teri: This isn’t a bottle for wine fans, but a great starter wine for new wine drinkers. This daily drinking red wine carries flavors of cranberry and a lower alcohol content making it easier to drink (almost juice like). This bottle would make a good sangria wine with its smooth and slightly tart flavor. 84 points for those who like more sophisticated wines, 88 points for new wine drinkers.
