Aaron:  I was really happy with this bottle.  The nose starts out as a brushfire with dried bushes and raspberry vanilla in the background.  The fruity velvet flavor is pleasant but the super smooth finish with a hint of pepper won me over.  There’s lots of chocolate and black fruit lingering on the palate; enjoy.  91 points

Teri: The Needle Cab has a juicy red fruit nose with flavors of oaky black cherry, rhubarb, and other dark fruits. I also identified a bit of dried herb (maybe parsley) on both the nose and the finish. This wine is smooth and easy to drink but hearty. Aaron and I enjoyed this with steak and it paired perfectly. 90 points

Apericena Vino Da Tavola Blanco NV

Lot 18 / The Tasting Room, $13

Aaron:  This was a great bottle, especially for the price.  If you want a nice easy going white that is flexible but still enjoyable, go to lot 18 and get this one.  The nose was banana-walnut bread with cantaloupe and sparkling vinegar on the flavor.  There was also white cherries and butter in the background of this full white.  91 points

Teri: I feel the bottle would pair well with fresh salads and creamy chicken. It has a sweet floral nose and smooth easy taste of cantaloupe, bell pepper, citrus and a hint of oak on the finish. Crisp and clean. Nothing stands out which is extraordinary, but it is enjoyable. 87 points

7 Fold Vino Da Tavola Bianco

Aaron: Nectarine and apricots flooded the nose while the flavor was mildly tart – though not in a harsh way.  The lingering finish reminded me of purple violets and apple cider vinegar.  This wasn’t anything special but was a nice crisp white for summer.  88 points

Teri: Smooth flavors of stone fruits (apricots and nectarines) with a hint of mineral, close to granite. I enjoyed the smell of apricot on the nose and the smooth finish. Tasty and delicious. 90 points

Zhigalova Cabernet Franc 2014

Aaron: Rocky mountains of granite with chili peppers make up the nose of this Cab Franc.  Tart, red berries hit the back of the throat while spicy chili powder and harissa-covered cherries glide through after the initial shock.  The spiciness tends to linger for a long time.  89 points

Teri: White pepper and raspberry nose with a medium body and a smooth but slightly bitter flavor. I tasted tart cherry, rhubarb, and white pepper with leafy greens on the finish. Nothing extraordinary on this wine. 86 points

Abalone NV Espumante

Lot 18 / The Tasting Room, $16

Aaron:  This is a great bottle for those looking for something sweet; maybe not the best for experienced wine drinkers.  There’s lots of bright green apple on the nose with some Himalayan rock salt.  The flavor was super sweet, like liquid candy and featured syrupy honey.  88 points

Teri: This sparkling doesn’t have much smell on the nose but an explosion of honey and apricot on the flavor that lingers in your mouth. Good amount of bubbles and a semi-sweet (not dry) flavor. This bottle is a great choice for those who like sweeter wines or would be a great choice with juice for mimosas. 89 points
