Silver Mile Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Lot 18, $18/bottleSilverMile

Vivino Wine Rating

Aaron:  This has tons of tobacco and mushroom on the somewhat metallic nose.  The flavor, however, was smooth and easy drinking with subdued plum, cherry, and black fruits.  This is mild and absent of any bite.  I think of it as fruity tar (That may not sound as appealing as it should).  90 points.

Teri: This is a delicious bottle. Juicy plum and baking spice partner with rich raspberry and sweet oak. It is hearty yet extremely smooth to drink. The smell is even delightful made up of rich nutmeg and chocolate. 90 points

Aaron:  I really enjoyed this bottle, another winner from Lot 18.  Lots of cherry and stones on the nose with some rose petal and violet flavors.  Good body with full but mild tannins and overall, a pleasant blend of fruit and oak.  The prominent berries were supported with good earth tones making for a great wine.  91 points.

Teri: This Zinfandel has flavors of black pepper, plum, and wild berries. The smell carries oak, tobacco, and prune. A good bottle overall. Noticeable tannins but smooth. Nothing extremely noteworthy. 88 points

Aaron: This bottle is worth seeking out and finding.  There is lots of oak on the nose with mulberry in the background.  This is ALL about the flavor.  Super full with lots of smooth vanilla and a creamy mouthfeel.  This transitions to a nice brown sugar and maple syrup sweetness which isn’t overpowering.  Really good.  92 points

Teri: This is a beautiful cab with a nose of cranberry and oak that opens to hearty flavors of black currant, blackberry, vanilla, and oak. Very easy drinking but still bold. This wine could stand up to hearty meat meals but is also delicious enough to enjoy on its own. Overall, quality bottle to keep on hand. 90 points

The Needle Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Aaron:  I was really happy with this bottle.  The nose starts out as a brushfire with dried bushes and raspberry vanilla in the background.  The fruity velvet flavor is pleasant but the super smooth finish with a hint of pepper won me over.  There’s lots of chocolate and black fruit lingering on the palate; enjoy.  91 points

Teri: The Needle Cab has a juicy red fruit nose with flavors of oaky black cherry, rhubarb, and other dark fruits. I also identified a bit of dried herb (maybe parsley) on both the nose and the finish. This wine is smooth and easy to drink but hearty. Aaron and I enjoyed this with steak and it paired perfectly. 90 points
