Aaron: There are a decent amount of minerals throughout this bottle.  White bark and light olives smothered cantaloupe on the nose.  The flavor is super dry and slightly tangy.  This is not fruity at all and almost bitter.  Definitely not my favorite and reminds me of sour pineapple.  85 points

Teri: Light lemon and melon nose and citrus flavors in the wine with mellow acidity. Mineral and honey add some additional complexity. It had good long flavor and is still light and crisp. Enjoyable.  90 points.

Kiona Vineyards Red Mountain Gewurztraminer 2014

Aaron:  Great bottle that is wonderfully full for a white wine.  Peachy, sunflower nose with rich, sweet flavor and lots of white grape.  My favorite flavor: bourbon vanilla!  Alcohol was definitely prominent throughout, and this was a bit sharp on the edges but the fullness and flavor make up for it.  90 points

Teri: With a beautiful smell of peach, this Gewurztraminer is a winner from smell to swallow. Ample different flavors fill your mouth: fresh cantaloupe, banana with caramel and floral undertones. There is a long lingering finish but still a light body leaving a smooth mouthfeel after swallowing. Complex and delicious. 92 points

Sebo Mendoza Torrontes 2016

IMG_0744.jpgLot 18/The Tasting Room, $16/bottle

Aaron:  This has a crisp citrus smell with lots of orange blossoms and violets.  There was a hint of sweetness with crisp almond butter (though the flavor is not buttery).  This was a bit sharp and metallic and would be amazing on a hot day.  90 points

Teri: Lemon and stone fruits with some (What I think was nectarine) on the nose. Light flavor overall but refreshing. The flavor profile was a blend of nut and fruit. I tasted citrus and kiwi up front with nutty (cashew) floral flavors on the finish. 88 points

Chateau Ste Michelle, $13

BevMo, $8.99

Aaron: This isn’t anything to write home about on its own but great for mimosas.  The nose and flavor are both a little citrusy but not overwhelming.  Apple, pear, and lemongrass reeds were on most of the taste buds.  88 points

Teri: Light almond nose with crisp flavors of peach and almond. The flavor is long lasting and I enjoy the mouthfeel of the sparkling wine. Nothing too out of the ordinary but very enjoyable; a wonderful value. 89 points

Butternut Chardonnay 2014

Purchased from Cost Plus World Market, $15.99 ($11.49 sale)

Total Wine & More, $12.29

Aaron:  This has a nutty, buttery nose (Teri chose the bottle and I didn’t see the name when I made my tasting notes).  There were lots of pecans and cashews with a little buttermilk on the finish.  This reminded me of creamy citrus and olive oil.  90 points

Teri: Other than stone fruits and rose petals on the nose, this bottle lives up to its name. Buttery full Chardonnay, especially on the finish. Flavors of vanilla, peaches, apple pie and cream fill your palate from start to finish. Overall, delightful (especially if buttery chards are your thing)! 92 points
