Aaron:  Dark bark and cocoa on the nose predicated an extremely fruity flavor.  Tons of rich, dark blackberries overpower the taste buds and slide away on a smooth velvety finish of vanilla.  This is just a luscious, juicy wine.   91 points

Teri: Juicy raspberry nose with flavors of blended cherry, black pepper, and more raspberry. Bold and flavorful with hearty but smooth tannins. This one is versatile enough to enjoy on its own but will also stand up to your hearty meat meals. 90 points

Aaron: This was one of four wines in our blind tasting for fun.  It ranked second for me because of its solid flavor and good finish.  I can’t say I would run out and buy it again but it was pleasant.  89 points

Teri: This zinfandel has a sweeter blueberry nose and flavors of cocoa, leather, oak and dark raspberry. Full bodied with pleasant medium tannins and a smooth finish. 89 points

Aaron:  When looking for an easy-to-find, affordable wine, I generally trust Gnarly head and this was no different.  Big fruity nose (as expected) and a juicy, easy drinking flavor.  There was still some good thickness and overwhelming berries, featuring black, red, and purple fruits.  This is not complex by any measure but it’s flexible and a good pick up, making it a great value in my opinion.  92 points

Teri: Slight tartness on the first sip leads the way to fill flavors but soft tannins and high drinkability. I taste mostly blackberry with some woody oak. It is rich but not overwhelmingly complex. If you want a fully bodied wine which is a good value at a decent price, this is your go-to. 88 points

Aaron:  I enjoyed this, great easy-to-find, appealing wine.  Dark moss and mulberry flooded the nose with some plum dancing in the background.  The flavor was juicy with red and purple fruits followed by leather and velvet.  There was a slight bitterness at the end which made me pucker but wasn’t bad.  89 points.

Teri: Raspberry nose with hints of plum, this fruit forward zinfandel is hearty with flavors of plum and oak that sit on the back of the mouth. Additional flavors of sweet oak, blackberry and white pepper round out the bottle for a juicy and delicious option to add to your dinner with friends. 90 points

Aaron:  I’ve never really been disappointed with Moss Roxx and this was pretty good as well.  There was some brown sugar and fig with blueberry undertones.  Dark tobacco was wrapped around berries which were bursting with juice and chocolate.  There was a hint of woody notes at the finish but as expected, this is your traditional, big, lodi zin.  90 points

Teri: Moss Roxx is one of the bottles I go to when I want an easy to drink but hearty red wine. The nose is jammy with undertones of nutmeg and cinnamon. You can taste more baking spices on the wine flavor with dark raspberry, vanilla, and plum. A ‘traditional’ California jammy zinfandel; Fruit forward with structured but smooth tannins. If you are a wine drinker who likes pinot’s or other medium-bodied red wines, this is a good bottle to try if you want something a little bolder. 90 points
